Tests & Results

Test results (e.g. blood, urine, x-ray) are checked by clinicians within a few days of their arrival/entry on the patient record. If you haven’t heard from us within two/three weeks from your test, it means the result was normal and there is no need for further action. However, if you would like to check, please be aware that our telephones are very busy in the early morning, and we, therefore, ask you to telephone for test results between 11 am and 4 pm.

You will be contacted by letter or phone should the clinician need to discuss the results with you or repeat the test.

Please understand that we are bound to maintain patient confidentiality and therefore results will only be disclosed to the patient (not their spouse/partner) or to the parents of minors, i.e. under the age of 16 unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
