NHS West Sussex Talking Therapies
NHS West Sussex Talking Therapies is an NHS service offering free, confidential talking therapy to adults registered with a GP in West Sussex.
If you’re feeling low, anxious or worried, talking therapies can really help you. The therapists can also help people with depression, phobias, social anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorders, health anxiety, low self-esteem or low confidence, relationship difficulties and bereavements. Talking therapies are available in person, on the phone and via video call.
How can I access the service?
You can self-refer to the service – you don’t need to speak to your GP first. If you would rather speak to your GP first, they can refer you with your permission. You can self-refer by phone, or you can complete an online self-referral form. Visit the website to find out more about how to contact them. Once you’ve self-referred or your GP has referred you, one of the team members will be in touch with you for an initial assessment.
Veterans:
Following the recent publicity about the withdrawal from Afghanistan and mental health issues in the Armed Forces, please find latest poster materials that signpost and explain the mental health services available in the NHS for Reservists, Service Leavers, Veterans and families. It is vital that individuals understand how to access the wellbeing and mental health services that exist.
A new NHS webpage is now live here that is the principal portal for communication. This resource also includes information to support smooth transfer of care when transitioning out of the Armed Forces.
