If you become unwell whilst abroad

If you are currently outside the UK and become unwell, please seek medical advice locally in the first instance (such as a Pharmacy or medical centre), particularly if your condition may require a face-to-face assessment, examination, tests or treatment. We may be able to offer limited advice remotely in some circumstances, but we cannot provide a face-to-face assessment while you are abroad or arrange investigations, prescriptions or treatment locally.

We therefore recommend that you contact your travel insurance provider if you need medical care. They can advise you on the most appropriate local healthcare service and, where necessary, arrange or authorise treatment. Please do not delay seeking local medical care while waiting for a response from the practice.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact the local emergency services immediately.
